Located in the protected mountainous region of Shizuoka, known as Oku-Shizu, the Gaiaflow Shizuoka distillery operates in close harmony with nature. The groundwater from the Southern Japanese Alps, which nourishes the land in this region, flows into the Abe River before reaching Suruga Bay. The water that flows beneath Oku-Shizu blesses the land, and the distillery benefits from this beautiful, natural relationship with the land. The distillery is equipped with Oregon pine washbacks and has three stills, an old still salvaged from the legendary Karuizawa distillery and a Forsyths double pot still heated by open flame.
