Ecosse, Highland du Nord. Distillerie en production. Propriétaires : Ben Nevis Distillery Ltd, Nikka Whisky Distilling.

Fondée en 1825, l'histoire de Ben Nevis est intimement liée à celle d'un blend de réputation internationale : Long John. Dès 1831, Ben Nevis devient la propriété de John MacDonald, surnommé Long John en raison de sa très grande taille. De 1955 à 1981, un alambic à colonne de type Coffey Still est installé au sein de Ben Nevis pour y distiller un alcool de grain et de malt. Une méthode de production chère aux distillateurs japonais dont la société Nikka, qui, en 1989, rachète la distillerie. A cette occasion, le plus vieux fût de Ben Nevis est embouteillé, donnant naissance au très recherché Ben Nevis 1926, 63 ans « under strength », une édition limitée à 98 bouteilles. Depuis, Ben Nevis cultive toujours sa différence et entretient son caractère exclusif en proposant de trop rares éditions de son malt de type single cask millésimées (1966, 1967, etc.) et de type small batch, Ben Nevis 21 ans 1996. A l'instar de Karuizawa, Ben Nevis est un malt robuste qui s'accommode d'une longue période de maturation en ex-fûts de sherry.
