Restée jusqu'en 2005 dans le giron du français Pernod Ricard, qui bénéficiait alors d'un monopole sur les whiskeys irlandais, Bushmills se développa auprès de sa consœur du sud, Midleton, et bénéficia d'une solide réputation de malt d'excellence auprès des amateurs d'Irish Whiskeys. Adepte de la triple distillation qui lui confère un caractère fruité inégalable et d'un vieillissement savamment orchestré, la distillerie propose dès la fin des années 90 de magnifiques versions de type single cask, millésimées (1988 Rum Barrel, 1991 Sherry Cask, 1990 Bourbon Barrel) laissées au degré naturel. Le passage du millénaire donne naissance à une série baptisée Millenium Malt millésimée 1975. Si les deux propriétaires successifs, Diageo (2005-2014) et Cuervo (depuis 2014) pérennisèrent ces embouteillages, il est à regretter que peu de développements innovants furent réalisés ces dernières années.
