Fondée en 1860, Dailuaine fut rapidement intégrée à la Distillers Company Limited qui sauva de la fermeture bon nombre de distilleries écossaises à la fin de la Première Guerre mondiale. Dès lors, elle devient une composante essentielle des blends Buchanan et Johnnie Walker. Mais son nom est aussi associé à celui de la distillerie Talisker aux côtés de laquelle elle cohabite une quinzaine d'années entre 1898 et 1915, au sein du groupe Dailuaine – Talisker Distilleries Ltd. Une signature que les plus chanceux peuvent encore voir sur un embouteillage historique de Talisker. Ses embouteillages en nom propre sont extrêmement limités : The Rare Malts Selection, Flora & Fauna, Manager's Dram. A noter cependant, une superbe édition limitée sortie en 1997 de la très furtive gamme Flora & Fauna Cask Strength, millésimée 1980, en fût de sherry.
