Longrow(Springbank)

Avant d'être la deuxième marque de single malt distillé au sein de Springbank, Longrow était une distillerie à part entière dont les vestiges se trouvent à proximité de la zone de parking et de mise en bouteille de Springbank. Longrow prend sa licence en 1824 mais ferme dès 1896. En 1973, les Mitchells, descendants d'une longue dynastie de distillateurs de Campbeltown, commencent à distiller au sein de Springbank un malt très tourbé (55ppm de phénols). Longrow renait de ses cendres et sera désormais l'alter-ego tourbé de Springbank. Mais la production est sporadique. De la période 1975-1986, aucune trace ne subsiste. Elle reprend en 1987, comme en attestent quelques fûts embouteillés à la faveur de négociants, dont Signatory Vintage. A cette même période, ses propriétaires embouteillent les deux premières années de distillation de Longrow, 1973 et 1974. Des éditions qui deviennent immédiatement cultes auprès des amateurs de whiskies tourbés et des collectionneurs.
