Ecosse, Speyside. Distillerie en production. Propriétaires : Diageo.Accueillie dès 1925 au sein de « l'écurie » John Walker & Sons (Distiller's Company Ltd), Mortlach a un passé unique dans l'histoire de l'industrie du whisky. Jusqu'en 1885 et pendant une vingtaine d'années, William Grant y fit ses armes et apprit tout du fonctionnement d'une distillerie, avant de se lancer dans ce qui allait devenir une success-story : la société William Grant & Sons, propriétaire de Glenfiddich. Mortlach est aussi l'une de très rares distilleries qui obtint le droit de distiller (sauf en 1944) au cours de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Enfin, son profil aromatique est marqué par un mode de distillation particulier reposant sur une quasi triple distillation. A défaut d'être nombreux, Mortlach dispose de plusieurs embouteillages spécifiques oscillant entre 10 et 12 ans présentés en bouteilles mais aussi en cruchons. A partir des années 90, elle suit la voie tracée par United Distillers & Vintners pour toutes leurs distilleries et présente plusieurs versions sous la gamme The Rare Malts Selection, Flora & Fauna et Manager's Dram.
