Scapa

Fondée en 1885 dans les Orcades par John Townsend, un distillateur venu du Speyside, la distillerie de Scapa est, avec sa voisine Highland Park, la distillerie la plus septentrionale d'Écosse. La distillerie avait été mise en sommeil en 1994 par son propriétaire d'alors (Allied Distillers) et seules quelques distillations effectuées par l'équipe d'Highland Park ont permis à Scapa de survivre. Elle a recommencé à produire officiellement en 2005, après son rachat par le géant français des spiritueux Pernod Ricard.
