Enmore

La plantation de canne Enmore est créée au début du XIXe siècle par Edward Henry Porter sur la rive est de la rivière Demerara. Quand la gouvernement du Guyana nationalise la production de rhum en 1974, c'est une des dernières distilleries encore en activité avec Diamond et Uitvlugt. Les deux colonnes Coffey en bois - le Chlorocardium rodiei (Greenheart en anglais) généralement utilisé pour la construction de navires du fait de sa bonne résistance à l'humidité et de sa capacité comparable à celle du cuivre à purifier les vapeurs des composés soufrés qu'elles contiennent - construites en 1880 d'après l'invention d'Aeneas Coffey en 1832 sont transférées à Uitvlugt à la fermeture de la distillerie en 1994 puis à Diamond après la fermeture de Uitvlugt en 1999. Il en va de même pour le single pot still en bois Versailles qu'Enmore avait récupéré après la fermeture de la distillerie du même nom en 1978.
