Midleton

Située dans le comté de Cork, Midleton est la plus grande distillerie d'Irlande. Elle a été fondée en 1825 par les frères James, Daniel et Jeremiah Murphy. En 1966, les groupes Jameson, Powers et Cork Distillers fusionnent pour devenir Irish Distillers. En 1975, les distilleries Powers et Jameson sont fermées et une nouvelle distillerie est ouverte à côté de Midleton pour centraliser et optimiser la production des différentes marques. L'ancienne distillerie est fermée à son tour et Midleton est alors la seule d'Irlande avant l'ouverture de Cooley deux ans plus tard. L'accent est alors mis sur le blend Jameson au détriment des single pot still qui reviennent progressivement en grâce ces dernières années.
