David Sherman Corporation a été fondée en 1958 par David Sherman Sr. et Paul A. Lux. Ces derniers ont profité des investissements de United Distillers et des désinvestissements de Diageo dans le bourbon pour acquérir des marques, comme Ezra Brooks ou Rebel Yell. L'entreprise fut renommée Luxco en 2006 et travailla pendant un certain temps avec la distillerie Heaven Hill avant de décider d'ouvrir leur propre distillerie au Kentucky en 2018, Lux Row Distillery.
