Hunter Laing was founded in 2013 by Stewart Laing, who co-managed his father, Douglas Laing’s, business with his brother before going their separate ways. The distillery Invergodon

Invergordon is one of very few grain distilleries in the north of Scotland, near the port. Traditionally, this type of distillery is more likely to be found in the Lowlands due to supply and logistics considerations. Invergordon began operations in 1961, two years after Invergordon Distillers was founded, in a period when Scotch whisky was becoming more popular, particularly in North America. The distillery was bought by Whyte & Mackay in 1993.
