Cuvée presentation

A J. Bally rum distilled in 1924, aged in oak casks then in oak vats and probably bottled in the early 1950s. The 1924 vintage is the first vintage bottled by Jacques Bally. The latter is a pioneer in the maturation of agricultural rum, having worked in cognac cellars. Initially, he learned by aging the surplus from his white rum production. This bottling of J.Bally 1924 has a rare intensity, a highly concentrated rum with hints of chocolate, tobacco and black tea. A legendary rum and a real piece of history!

The distillery Bally

Bally’s history began with the foundation in 1774 of the Lajus Habitation, a sugar refinery in Carbet, Martinique. In 1917, the French engineer Jacques Bally bought the premises and updated the distillery’s equipment. It developed international renown under his direction. In 1987, it was moved to Simon, and then to Saint James in 1996. The brand is currently owned by the La Martiniquaise group.
