Cuvée presentation

A single cask (#3339) from the Armorik distillery, distilled in 2008, aged in a sherry cask and bottled in 2023 for La Maison du Whisky. Founded on July 1, 1900, in Lannion by Léon Warenghem, the Warenghem distillery is a pioneer in the production of whisky in France, being the first to conduct grain distillation trials in 1983. Drawing inspiration from late 20th-century Speyside whiskies, this Armorik, aged in Spanish oak casks, is characterized by bitter, fruity, malty, spicy, and intensely chocolatey notes and its oxidative structure is truly magnificent. A limited edition of 450 bottles.

The distillery Warenghem

The Warenghem distillery was founded in 1900 in Lannion by Léon Warenghem, originally to produce the plant liqueur Elix d’‘Armorique. In 1919, Henri Warenghem took over from his father and expanded the range to include other liqueurs. Gilles Leizour then took over the distillery in 1981 and focused production on regional spirits like chouchen. He was also responsible for distillation of France’‘s first whisky (a blend) in 1983 and its release in 1987 under the name WB (Whisky Breton). In 1993 he built a whisky distillery based on Scottish production methods. Its first single malt was released in 1998 under the name Armorik.
