Cuvée presentation

A Jean Cavé Armagnac distilled in 1945.

The distillery Jean Cavé

Armagnac was originally a pharmaceutical elixir before being consumed for pleasure from the 16th century onwards. The alcohol had its heyday in the 19th century. In 1883, the Jean Cavé company was founded in Lannepax. The aim was to create exceptional armagnacs with the peculiarity of being aged for a long time in old oak casks. Prior to this, distillation, which takes place in the middle of winter, collects the alcohol vapours, which are then cooled and eventually stored in a still in a liquid state. When it comes out of the tool, the alcohol is white, known as blanche d‘Armagnac. It is possible to drink this pure brandy, which is richly flavoured with fruity and floral aromas. Generally speaking, blanche d'Armagnac is aged for several years in casks, giving it extra roundness and smoothness. Jean Cavé offers exceptional vintage armagnacs, corresponding only to the year the grapes were harvested, or blended armagnacs, made up of a harmonious blend of brandies of different ages and tastes.
