1. How are spirits estimated at Fine Spirits Auction?

Every bottle available on FineSpirits.Auction is carefully valued and assessed by a team of specialists (composed of experts from iDealWine and rare spirits specialists from LMDW) who make sure they are in a suitable condition and authentic. Various checks are carried out specific to each brand and each type of spirit.

2. Creating an account

Create an account to take part in auctions and see spirits estimates on Fine Spirits Auction. This service is free to use and obligation-free.

3. Placing a bid at FineSpirits.Auction

a. Place a single bid
Simply click on the button “Enchérir” (Bid) and confirm the bid price shown above—in this case €1,500 or €1,788 including the commission.

b. Place a maximum bid
To maximize your chances of winning the spirit you are interested in without risking going over your budget, you can set a maximum bid. This maximum amount will not be visible to other bidders and will only be reached if other clients try to bid higher than you. The bid will increase automatically every time another user bids above your last bid until it reaches the maximum amount set, without you needing to monitor the process.

4. How do I monitor a particular lot?

Before bidding you can also monitor (“Surveiller”) all the lots you are interested in. These bottles will be listed on a single page so you can easily keep track of them and miss any of the action.

5. How does an auction end?

At the time and date specified for the end of the auction, the last highest bid for each lot becomes the successful bidder and is assigned the lot. The breakdown of bids is accessible from our product pages and catalogues.

6. What commission fees are applied to winning bids?

In addition to the sale price, bidder also pay a commission fee and delivery fees. Bidder fees are as follows: 19.2% incl. VAT (16% excl. VAT) for spirits auctions.
This commission is used to pay the Auction Operator (IWA SARL) and is applied to the final price when bidding closes on the site (the hammer price).

7. When and how do I pay for successful bids?

Once bidding ends, for every lot you bid on you will receive the results of your bid and, where applicable, the price of the successful bid. Once the last bids have been placed, you will receive an email inviting you to pay for your order. You can then either organize for the bottle to be delivered or come and collect it in person from our warehouses.
