Macduff

Macduff est fondé en 1960 par le courtier de Glasgow Brodie Hepburn ainsi que Marty Dyke et George Crawford. La production commence en 1963. La distillerie est rachetée en 1972 par William Lawson, filiale de Martini Rossi. Une gamme de deux single malt respectivement âgés de 5 et 8 ans - fidèle au goût prévalent en Italie pour les jeunes whiskies - sort sous le nom de Glen Deveron. En 1993, Martini fusionne avec Bacardi et Macduff passe à John Dewar & Sons ; la marque Glen Deveron est alors arrêtée. De nos jours, le whisky produit à Macduff est toujours largement destiné à William Lawson mais la marque The Deveron a été relancée. On trouve également plusieurs embouteillages chez les négociants, cette fois sous le nom de Macduff.
