Cuvée presentation

Single cask North British (#HL10429), distilled in 1963, matured in a sherry cask and bottled in 2014. Hunter Laing was founded in 2013 by Stewart Laing, who had co-run his father’s company, Douglas Laing, with his brother Fred before they went their separate ways. He was soon joined by his sons Andrew and Scott, incorporating their company, Edition Spirits, into the new business. Stewart Laing, who had worked at Bruichladdich in his youth, dreamed of opening a distillery on Islay. That dream became a reality in 2016 with the construction of Ardnahoe, where Jim McEwan oversaw production. Limited edition of 150 bottles.

The distillery North British

North British was founded in 1885 by a consortium of Scottish blenders who hoped to break DCL’‘s monopoly on grain distillation (now Diageo). It was for a long time the most productive grain distillery in Scotland and, although most of its production was reserved for blends, a few of its venerable single grains are still released.
